No War on China!

Red Braid is organizing to confront anti-Chinese racism in western Canada. While Sinophobia is nothing new to the west coast of Canada and the United States, we see its contemporary iteration – a nativist moral panic around real estate speculation, money laundering, and the fentanyl crisis – as a racist defense of Canadian imperialist hegemony against China’s rising economic and political power.

Our campaign activities have included organizing counter-rallies and panels, and publishing anti-imperialist critiques of Sinophobia. We are working on connecting our research and analysis with working class Chinese communities to help build a grassroots power that can disrupt anti-Chinese hegemony in British Columbia.

No War on China! Joining the global movement against a new cold war

Red Braid opposes the Western imperialist bloc that is reassembling against China, and especially, Canada’s central role in it. We believe the working class in the West must stand with the working class in China, not with Western imperial power. That means opposing war on China without compromise, and fighting sinophobia and the Canadian state head on.
