Vancouver
Unceded and Occupied Musqueam, Squamish & Tsleil-Waututh Territories
Red Braid has its origins in the Downtown Eastside. Since we formed as the Social Housing Alliance in 2013, we have helped organize a number of tent cities in Vancouver, including 58 West Hastings, 10 Year Tent City, and Sugar Mountain. Since 2016, we have focused our organizing energies outside of Vancouver. However, we continue to partner with Vancouver-based campaigns and organizations, including Our Homes Can’t Wait, Vancouver Area of Drug Users, and Western Aboriginal Harm Reduction Society to fight against urban displacement pressures.
